Oceanos Project, sponsored by Sea Pioneer, won first place in Monaco race

The Oceanos Project, founded in 2016, is a dynamic research team comprising undergraduate and PhD students from the School of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). The team is dedicated to participating in international green shipping competitions, such as the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (MEBC), and advancing maritime technology and sustainability.

Monaco Energy Boat Challenge is a competition organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco in collaboration with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, the Hydros Foundation and the International Powerboating Federation (UIM), which brings together a new generation of engineers to present and race the energy efficient and green boats they have designed and built.

The Oceanos-NTUA team won the first place in the overall ranking of the competition. In particular, they managed to collect the maximum points after receiving the first place in the two races.

For the first time since their first participation in 2019 they Oceanos-NTUA team won not only in the overall ranking but also in each race separately. We are all very excited as our team managed to overcome several difficulties in its quest to realize its dream.
