Certificates Awarded to Four Company Vessels for Participation in the “Adopt A Ship” Program
We are pleased to announce that four of our vessels — Reliability, Modesty, Longevity, and Ingenuity — have received certificates in 2025 for their participation in the “Adopt A Ship” educational program.
The “Adopt A Ship” program connects elementary school classrooms (4th, 5th, and 6th grades) with active seagoing vessels, enabling direct email communication between students and the vessel’s Master and officers. Through this exchange, children gain valuable insight into life onboard ships, the cargoes carried, global trading routes, and maritime geography. At the same time, the program plays an important role in promoting the image of shipping and highlighting its vital contribution to global trade and the world economy.
The implementation of “Adopt A Ship” in Greece was initiated in the autumn of 2018 by "Project Connect," following authorization from the Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs and under the auspices of the Ministry of Shipping & Insular Policy.
"Project Connect" is a non-profit organization founded in May 2015 with the support of Greek shipowners and distinguished professionals in Shipping and Human Resources. Its mission is to strengthen the connection between education and the maritime industry, fostering awareness, understanding, and future talent for shipping.
We are proud of our crews’ continued engagement in initiatives that support education, outreach, and the positive promotion of shipping to younger generations.
